Neoenergia's volunteers in four Brazilian states – São Paulo, Bahia, Pernambuco and Rio Grande do Norte – in addition to the Federal District, began the distribution of approximately 38 tons of food collected in 'Operation Kilo 2023'. This is the second action developed by the company's Volunteer Program this year.

The goal of the project is to help the people most in need through volunteering. The initiative directly benefited 14,000 people assisted by approximately 100 social organizations distributed in the distributor's concession states, in addition to the Holding. (Neoenergia (RJ), Neoenergia Elektro (SP), Neoenergia Brasília (DF), Neoenergia Coelba (BA), Neoenergia Pernambuco (PE) and Neoenergia Cosern (RN).

In the 2023 edition, the results were historic: 38.6 tons of food collected, an increase of more than 10 tons compared to the 2022 edition. The company's employees engaged in the fight against hunger and support for the most vulnerable.

In the project, professionals from all business areas of the company were involved. Operation Kilo is aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger and Sustainable Agriculture.

In addition to the 38.6 tons of food donated by employees, Neoenergia will also purchase and donate another 16 additional tons in the State of Bahia. This action materializes the company's adhesion to the Bahia Sem Fome program, led by the Bahian State Government.

"Once again, our volunteers showed the power of the Neoenergia team and the commitment it has to the communities where we operate. The fight against hunger is a super important agenda in the country and following all the internal mobilization to contribute to this cause is a source of great pride!" says Clayton Urbano, coordinator of the Neoenergia Volunteer Program and manager of Internal Communication and Culture of the company.

The encouragement of volunteer work at Neoenergia is a constant all year round. The company has a Program that permanently offers engagement opportunities through its own online platform, used by the companies of the Iberdrola Group. In addition, Neoenergia also has an online space with vacancies offered directly by NGOs, in partnership with Transforma Brasil.

The platform crosses the vacancies available in Brazilian institutions with the information registered by those who want to be volunteers, connecting opportunities and facilitating engagement. All actions are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the United Nations (UN).
