Neoenergia customers will be able to monitor, in real time, the electricity consumption of their homes through the Conscious Consumption Educational Platform. This initiative is part of a pilot project of the Energy Efficiency Superintendence, regulated by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), installing free equipment that allows you to monitor, through an application and website, the expenditure of each household appliance, revealing the “villains”, showing the days and times of highest consumption, presenting energy savings guidelines in real time, estimating the amount of the next energy bill.

“This project was developed so that customers can become aware of the consumption of electricity, contributing to the reduction of waste. The use of more efficient equipment and the change in habits in its use can reduce the amount of the energy bill”, highlights the superintendent of Energy Efficiency at Neoenergia, Ana Christina Mascarenhas.

According to Daniel Sarmento, Energy Efficiency Supervisor, the pilot project consists of a software and hardware-based solution used as an educational tool, focused on monthly, weekly, and daily feedback to provide content on energy efficiency. “It will provide alerts and tips, empowering our consumers with best practices to make consumption more efficient,” she explains.

How to participate?

To participate in the pilot project, interested parties from the municipalities covered must:

  • Be in default with the distributor.
  • Have two-phase or three-phase connections with a minimum consumption of 200 kWh/month (this information is available on the energy bill).
  • Have a Wi-Fi signal that covers the area where the equipment (meter) will be installed.

Registrations for the selection of those interested in participating in the project take place through the website www.meuconsumoneoenergia.com, carried out in batches, until vacancies are filled. Once the lots are closed, interested parties can still register contacts on the site to notify the opening date of new vacancies.

Through equipment installed on the energy meter of the consumer unit connected to the customer's internet, electrical data is made available to a cloud platform that, through a web and mobile interface, provides the user with detailed information such as peak consumption times, segregation of the consumption of some equipment (refrigerators, electric shower and air conditioning), projection of the amount of the next bill, among other functions. In parallel, tips and alerts will also be sent via e-mail and social network messages to registered customers.

This means that the user will be able to know the expected cost of their bill, unexpected expenses in advance - avoiding shocks - which equipment consumes the highest energy, the days and times of the week with the highest energy consumption and, in this way, can promote changes in consumption habits.

Real-time information on the consumption of electricity and/or energy generation of the consumer unit;

  • Educational alerts regarding energy use;
  • Identification of equipment that consumes the most energy;
  • Indication of the period with the highest energy consumption;
  • Forecasting your account costs.
