To celebrate the International Women's Day, on March 8, Neoenergia group has prepared a special content to disclose a Company's action - unprecedented in Brazilian electric sector - aimed to contribute for the promotion of gender equality in the country: the Electrician School for Women project.
One of the largest women inclusion programs in the labor market, Electrician School for women is carried out by Neoenergia's distributors in Bahia and Pernambuco (Coelba and Celpe, respectively). Since its inception, in August 2019, over 20 thousand women were enrolled into this professional program that comprises theoretical and practical matters, with up to 7 months and course load of 596 hours. The quantity of interested women unveiled their will of working in a sector that is currently represented by 22% of the women workforce in Brazil, according to a study presented in 2019 by the Renewable Energy International Agency.

In addition to developing and strengthening the qualified technical professional training focused in safety, this action is a part of Neoenergia's group commitment with U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs), that sets Gender equality as one of the big global goals to be achieved by 2030.
IBERDROLA GROUP'S ACTION TO PROMOTE GENDER EQUALITY
Iberdrola, a Spanish group from which we are a part, is a company committed to the international best practices in terms of conciliation, equality and diversity. The company includes the effective equality between men and women as a part of the key organization's values. This is expressed in the Policy of Equality of Opportunities and Conciliation approved by the Board of Directors. In addition, in its Conciliation Policy, Iberdrola was the first-mover in implementing a continuous working hours.
As recognition for this action, the company was included by the third consecutive year in Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index. This report is a global benchmark in gender matters and identifies organizations standing out for the fostering of equality and for their transparency in gender matters.
