Balcão de Ideias (Counter of Ideas), an initiative of Neoenergia Institute and Cieds for educators

The Balcão de Ideias e Práticas Educativas (Conter of Ideas and Educational Practices), a Neoenergia Institute‘s initiative ina partnership with the Centro Integrado de Estudos e Programas de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (CIEDS) has just launched a page in its platform (www.cieds.org.br/balcaodeideias/covid-19/) intended to educators, teachers and other professionals from the Education area, for sharing experiences, promoting knowledge and dialogue on the challenges of the area in combating the pandemic.

One of the most affected sectors by COVID-19, the education area has been facing hardships, such as content adjustment to the new reality, planning the return back to onsite classes and the post-pandemic scenario. The project has assisted over 1,181 educators in Brazil, and a need was found to create a virtual page, freely accessible to all education professionals, aiming at strengthening knowledge, sharing experiences and feedback from educators, also providing information of interest, such as events and news on education.

“This is a space for dialogue and integration among education professionals. We are living challenging times with the pandemic impacts and collaborative and network actions are proven to be even more important and needed”, says Nathacha Ferreira, project coordinator at CIEDs.

In addition to educational practices and cross-related themes, the page also provides the possibility for teachers all over the country - who can enroll for free in the platform - to be aware of events such as webinars, online courses and open lectures of the sector, in addition to accessing news, articles, bit notices and educational materials, as well as sending good practices to the page.

“We had to provide a quick response to this new reality. The launching of this page advances the objectives of the Counter of Ideas project, supported by Neoenergia Institute since 2019, with attention to the new demands of this scenario of COVID-19. The initiative supplements one of the pillars of our work, Training & Research, so that, together, we are able to find solutions for education on a collaborative basis”, concludes Renata Chagas, Neoenergia Institute’s DEO.

It is aimed at fostering the development of social and environmental action in the areas of operation of its sponsor, Neoenergia, by supporting society in the management and promotion of selected projects, reinforcing the company’s brand and commitment with the development of local culture and economy. For the 2018 to 2022 cycle, the challenge of Neoenergia Institute is to collaborate directly with the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN. The main objectives are the contribution to the improvement of the life quality of the most vulnerable people and the commitment to sustainable development, through carrying out projects in the scope of the following pillars: Training and Research, Biodiversity and Climate Change, Art and Culture, Social Action and Institutional Collaboration, which seeks alliances to achieve the SDGs (www.neoenergia.com).
