We put energy into what matters most
Neoenergia Institute promotes initiatives aiming at contributing to the improvement of the quality of life in the communities where Neoenergia Group operates, being the representative of Fundación Iberdrola in Brazil.
All the Iberdrola Group Foundations are guided by the same Master Plan, which defines the objectives of the projects developed in all the countries where the Group operates. For the 2018 to 2022 cycle, the Neoenergia Institute challenge is to collaborate directly with the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The main objectives are to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the most vulnerable people and the betting on sustainable development through projects within the following pillars: Training and Research, Biodiversity and Climate Change, Art and Culture, Social Action and Institutional Collaboration, global guidelines implemented by the Iberdrola Foundations Committee, which coordinates the work of all the Group's Foundations worldwide.

Accordion | Training and Research
We support training and research in general, developing programs chilhood education and teacher training, oriented to overcome inequlalities and pomote opportunities. In this pillar, we contribute directly to SDGs 4 - Quality Education and 17 - Partnerships and means of implementation.

Accordion | Biodiversity and Climate Change
We support the environment protection and the biodiversity improvement to actively contribute to the fight against climate change. We develop projects for terrestrial fauna protection, oriented to the terrestrial animals' conservation to avoid the extinction of certain species and contribute both to the improvement of biodiversity and to the fight against climate change. We also support projects for the conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
We contribute directly to SDGs 13 - Action against global climate change, 14 - Life in water, 15 - Life on earth and 17 - Partnerships and means of implementation.



Accordion | Art and Culture
We recognize the contribution of art and culture to sustainable development. We value historical and artistic heritage through the Cultural Lighting Program and support our own projects or through regional notices, through Transforming Energy into Culture, to promote the rich local and Brazilian diversity.
The Art and Culture pillar collaborates directly with SGDs 04 - Quality Education, 08 - Decent Work and Economic Growth, 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities, 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production and 17 - Partnerships and means of implementation.

We contribute to human development, inclusion and opportunities for vulnerable people and groups.
We contribute directly to SDGs 1 - Poverty eradication, 2 - Zero hunger and sustainable agriculture, 3 - Health and well-being, 6 - Drinking water and sanitation, 8 - Decent work and economic growth, 10 - Reduced inequalities and 17 - Partnerships and means of implementation.

We collaborate with social entities and public institutions of institutional interest to Neoenergia We develop Neoenergia Institute's own actions that foster alliances focused on the achievement of the SDGs, contributing directly with SDG 17 - Partnerships and Means of Implementation.
