Neoenergia, a Iberdrola Group's company, expanded its partnership with  United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to enable donations through the energy bills in all its distribution companies - Elektro (SP/MS), Coelba (BA), Celpe (PE) and Cosern (RN). Therefore, beneficiaries will also count on the support of the biggest state in the country, as there are no similar initiatives in São Paulo.

With this important step, all of Neoenergia's distributors are partners of the project that stimulates solidarity and supports actions promoted by the Fund. Contributions will be allocated to education, health and protection of children and adolescents living in Brazilian semiarid region.

Those interested in making donations through this partnership can enroll themselves via phone 0800 605 2020 and inform the amount they wish do include on a monthly basis in their energy bill. The amount may be changed or cancelled at any time by the holder. After enrollment, customers will also receive periodical information related to the projects supported, with the purpose of broadening the knowledge on the lives of these children and adolescents, transformed due to this initiative.

“We are very happy with the expansion of this partnership and with the possibility of support from São Paulo's people. Now, more people will have the opportunity to contribute to ensure the rights of thousands of children and adolescents in Brazil", says Florence Bauer, UNICEF Brazil's representative.

Funds raised with donations will be used to continue and expand the projects developed by UNICEF in one of the poorest and beaten regions of the country. Currently, the institution's actions are in place in Pernambuco, Bahia and Rio Grande do Norte, through the UNICEF Municipal Seal of Approval.
