More than 3.2 million Neoenegia customers will not be impacted by the new value of the tariff flag





Customers registered in the Social Tariff of Electric Energy will not be impacted by the tariff flag water shortage (R $ 14.20 every 100 kilowatt-hour). In Neoenergia's five distributors, it means that more than 3.2 million households will not incorporate the new value into the energy bill. For these low-income families, the red flag is still focused on level 2 (R$9,492 per 100 kWh). The benefit also grants discounts of up to 65% on the invoice. To date, 620,000 have been proactively enrolled by the distributors Neoenergia Coelba, Neoenergia Pernambuco, Neoenergia Cosern, Neoenergia Elektro and Neoenergia Brasília. The company estimates that approximately 307,000 families could be benefited, but have not yet registered. The company will continue to intensify disclosure and facilitate access to registration update.    

To have access to the discount, the client must be enrolled in the Single Register for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico). Low-income families must obtain the Social Identification Number (NIS) directly from a Reference and Social Assistance Center (CRAS) in the administrative area where they reside. Registered users, with monthly income per person less than or equal to half a national minimum wage, can make accreditation with the concessionaire.  

Registration can be made directly on the websites of distributors, accessing the Social Tarifa field. The update can also be performed by teleservice 116. The power distributor will make the confirmation in the federal government database. After checking the data, the deadline for inclusion in the Social Energy Tariff is five working days and the customer now has the benefit on the next invoice. Neoenergia also advises customers to update their registration data through the website.  

The same procedure should be adopted for customers registered in the Continued Benefit Benefit (BPC), who have the Benefit Number (NB). It is worth remembering that the low-income family that resides in rental housing or property transferred, where the energy bill is in the name of the owner of the property, can also apply for the benefit. A family member should contact you through the company's service channels and inform you that you are not the holder of the energy account, but reside on site. At the time of registration, the consumer must inform the CPF, RG and the date of birth. It is important that the low-income customer when leaving the residence always keep in touch with the concessionaire to update the registration and request the change of benefit to the new housing.  

What is the Social Electricity Tariff?  

Benefit created by the Federal Government for the residences of low-income families. It consists of reducing the electricity consumption tariff by up to 65% and for indigenous peoples and quilombolas by up to 100%. The benefit is regulated by Law 12,212 of January 20, 2010.   

Who has the right to the Social Energy Tariff?  

Every Residential Consumer Unit with family enrolled in the Single Register for Social Programs of the Federal Government.
