Neoenergia opened registrations for the Education with Energy Award, which will distribute five gift vouchers of R$ 5 thousand among students who present innovative solutions for raising awareness about energy efficiency. Teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15 who are attending the final years of elementary school in the concession areas of Coelba (Bahia) and Elektro (São Paulo) can participate.

The registration can be done until September 30, through the website educacaocomenergia.com.br, for the three categories: public school student, private school student and Neoenergia employee's child. For the first two, the registration is also available through the Neoenergia Education with Energy application, which has free 3G navigation for students from public institutions and can be found on the Google Play Store.

Students should participate in five challenges about types of energy generation, how to calculate home consumption, and tips on how to save energy. In the end, they have the mission to develop a creative solution to a waste of electricity situation in his/her home, neighborhood, school or country. The ideas can be presented in various formats, including digital campaign, music, video, game and drawing. A teacher may be chosen as a mentor.

The winners will be announced on October 9 through the website. Three gift vouchers of R$ 5 thousand will be given to the best proposals from public school students and the other two to the winners of the other categories.

The award is part of the Education with Energy project, which is being developed as a pilot at Coelba (BA) and Elektro (SP/MS) and should be expanded to the other concessionaires in the group - Celpe (PE) and Cosern (RN). The initiative is part of the Energy Efficiency Program, regulated by the National Energy Agency (Aneel). "The actions have the objective of spreading the concept of energy efficiency, making students and teachers aware of sustainable development, renewable energies and efficient energy consumption in order to promote positive changes in habits," says Neoenergia's energy efficiency manager, Ana Mascarenhas.
