Neoenergia and Ambev announce partnership in wind energy self-production contract
With the contract, Ambev will become part of three Neoenergia wind farms with the aim of supplying a demand for 55MWm of renewable energy
Committed to offering efficient solutions to its customers, Neoenergia announced on Friday (18) a partnership with Ambev under which the beverage company will have a stake in three Neoenergia Oitis wind farms, located in the states of Piauí and Bahia. The 55 MWm renewable energy sales contract will run until 2033 and follows the modality of self-production by equivalence, guaranteeing access to the energy produced by the Oitis 3, Oitis 5 and Oitis 7 plants, to meet part of Ambev's energy demand. The operation was approved by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) in June this year and is subject to other conditions precedent usual for this type of project.
A protagonist in the country's energy transition, Neoenergia is reinforcing its role in stimulating the development of its partners with the new partnership. "We have a solid strategy in which the customer is at the heart of our business. That's why this is another partnership that reflects our ability to offer long-term, customized energy solutions that increase industrial competitiveness," said Eduardo Capelastegui, CEO of Neoenergia.
Neoenergia Oitis is a wind farm complex made up of 12 farms, located between the states of Piauí and Bahia, with 103 wind turbines of 5.5 MW each, totaling an installed capacity of 566.5 MW, enough to supply a city of 2.7 million inhabitants.
