Neoenergia achieves cash EBITDA of R$ 2.8 billion in the first quarter of 2024

This Tuesday, Neoenergia announced the financial and operating results for the first quarter of 2024. Caixa EBITDA reached R$ 2.8 billion, up 8% compared to the first quarter of 2023. Net Income recorded for the period was R$ 1.1 billion. The company also announced an 8.2% growth in energy injected, including distributed generation, at the five utilities, compared to the same period of the

previous year.

Investments

Focusing on sustainable growth in the quality of the services provided, the company closed the first quarter with Capex of R$ 1.9 billion concentrated on distribution and transmission networks. Of this total, R$ 1.1 billion was allocated to expansion for the continuous improvement of the energy supply to the 16.4 million customers of the five distributors — Neoenergia Brasília (DF), Neoenergia Coelba (BA), Neoenergia Cosern (RN), Neoenergia Elektro (SP/MS) and Neoenergia Pernambuco (PE)

Recently, Neoenergia announced robust investments for the coming years in the concession areas of Neoenergia Coelba (2024 to 2027) and Neoenergia Brasília (2024 to 2028), of R$ 13.3 billion and R$ 1.4 billion, respectively.

In terms of Transmission, Capex was R$ 728 million, in line with what was carried out in the first quarter of 2023, fully dedicated to the construction of the lines and substations of the lots purchased at the auctions, such as the Vale do Itajaí, Estreito and Morro do Chapéu projects.

Energy Balance

The total volume of energy injected, including distributed generation, was 22,102 gigawatt-hours (GWh) in the first quarter, an increase of 8.2% compared to the same period last year. The index was influenced by high temperatures and a growing customer base with 307,000 new customers in the last twelve months. The distributed energy recorded in the first three months of 2024 was 18,918 gigawatt-hours (GWh), an increase of 8.5% compared to the same period last

year.

Quality

Regarding the quality of the power supply, the five distributors are below the regulatory limit for both the DEC (Equivalent Interruption Duration per Consumer) and the FEC (Equivalent Interruption Frequency per Consumer).

ESG+F

To comply with a business model aimed at sustainable and socially responsible growth, Neoenergia maintains three pillars (environment and climate change; social commitment; corporate governance rules and policies) together with financial strength. The company has 30 ESG targets with commitments signed for the years 2025 and 2030, which are monitored and released quarterly, including targets and plans for the impact of assets on biodiversity and the collection of green debts.
