Fundamental to winning the championship in Qatar

Rio de Janeiro, December 11, 2023

Neoenergia brand ambassador, Bruna Kajiya has just become a four-time world kiteboarding champion. She won the title last Saturday (9th) in Qatar. Sponsored by the brand since the beginning of the year, the athlete highlights the importance of support in this victory.

World circuit competitions are at a very high level. I had to put a lot of effort into winning this title. Neoenergia's support was essential to keep me firm and strong during the season, in addition to going through all the challenges to achieve the fourth world title,” said Bruna Kajiya.

Born in the state of São Paulo, the kitesurfer won the world kiteboarding championship in 2009, 2016 and 2017; and was runner-up six times. Since childhood, his relationship with water earned him the nickname “little fish”. When she was in the classroom, the future athlete watched kite-surfers through the school window, in the sea of Ilhabela, São Paulo. Bruna convinced a friend to teach her the sport and, since then, has never abandoned it. Driven by the energy of the wind, she loves being on a kiteboard feeling the sound of the sea and the breeze on her face. Paulista is a world reference because she was the first woman to perform the backside 315 maneuver, a movement hitherto carried out only by men.

Supporting the development of women's sports in Brazil is part of Neoenergia's marketing strategy to strengthen and humanize the brand. Among the companies in the sector, Neoenergia is already recognized as a leading company that supports the development of women's sports.

“We are an innovative and sustainable brand. That's why we established strong communication to connect our values with the public. We have a purpose with clean energy from renewable sources and with the appreciation of women in sports and in society as a whole. This is the energy that moves us to lead the Brazilian market,” says Lorenzo Perales, marketing director at Neoenergia.

The company supports other modalities with the participation of women. Since the beginning of 2023, two other athletes have formed the Neoenergia Team: Ana Vitória Magalhães, Tota, Brazilian under-23 road cycling and time trial champion; and Mirelle Leite, two-time South American under-23 champion in the 3,000 meters with obstacles. The incentive for women's sports is also present in the partnership with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) through sponsorship of the Brazilian National Teams and the Brazilian Neoenergia Women's Championship.
