This unprecedented initiative, which is part of the Neoenergia Institute's 2025-2026 Call for Proposals, will allocate up to R$8.5 million to promote social development actions. Registration ends at 6pm on April 30
Rio de Janeiro, April 25, 2025 - For the first time, the Neoenergia Institute is launching a call for proposals to promote the health and well-being of children and adolescents, the elderly, people with disabilities and patients undergoing cancer treatment. Ilumina Social will allocate around R$8.5 million this year to finance projects developed in Bahia, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte, São Paulo and the Federal District.
Applications until 6pm on April 30
Ilumina Social is part of the Instituto Neoenergia 2025-2026 Call for Proposals, which includes Transforming Energy into Culture, for art and culture, and Jogando Juntas, to support women's sport. Applications are free and must be made exclusively on the Neoenergia Institute website by 6pm on April 30. For the three calls for proposals, the Neoenergia Institute expects to invest around R$ 35 million by next year, through federal and state incentive laws.
"The aim is to strengthen actions for social inclusion, health care and the promotion of human rights, contributing to the reduction of inequalities and sustainable development," explains Renata Chagas, CEO of the Neoenergia Institute.
According to Chagas, the Ilumina Social projects will be assessed on the basis of their social impact and scope, service to vulnerable groups, financial sustainability and technical feasibility, and contribution to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The institutions selected will be able to raise funds via tax incentives.
The funds will be allocated to projects approved by the Fund for Children and Adolescents (FIA), the National Fund for the Elderly, the National Program to Support Oncological Care (PRONON) and the National Program to Support Health Care for People with Disabilities (PRONAS/PCD).
Those selected must promote actions to guarantee the rights of children and adolescents, encouraging their development, especially for projects carried out during the school day, contributing to the construction of a sustainable future. In addition, projects will be considered that empower the elderly, aiming for autonomy, improved quality of life and leisure, and initiatives that encourage actions aimed at livelihoods. Finally, initiatives for people with disabilities and cancer patients that expand professional training, access to information, research and available treatments can also be considered.
