São João 2025: Neoenergia's campaign warns about the dangers of releasing balloons at June festivals
In the new film, a scenographic balloon is flown by a drone to raise awareness of how to keep the power grid safe
With the arrival of the June festivities, one illegal practice still poses a major threat to safety on the electricity grid: releasing balloons. In order to transform this reality, guarantee quality energy during São João and, above all, make the population aware of the importance of grid safety, Neoenergia has launched an advertising film in which a scenic balloon passes through several cities, driven by a drone, with a poster that encourages the public to reflect on the following question: "Can you imagine if a balloon fell here?". Watch it here. In the film "Drone Balloon", created by the Propeg agency, the scenographic balloon crosses the skies of cities to warn of the danger. As well as interrupting the electricity supply, falling balloons can cause major fires. It is important to remember that the practice is considered an environmental crime throughout the country (Law No. 9.605/98). The initiative adds to the preventive safety actions that include ongoing maintenance already carried out routinely at the company's five distributors: Neoenergia Coelba (BA), Neoenergia Cosern (RN) and Neoenergia Pernambuco (PE). The other distributors are Neoenergia Brasília (DF) and Neoenergia Elektro (SP/MS). "We used technology in a creative way to provoke reflection. When they saw the scenographic balloon flying, people were curious and shared the experience on social media. This is the energy we want to have with the public to talk about something as essential as safety on the electricity grid, both in everyday life and now during the June festivities," says Lorenzo Perales, Neoenergia's Marketing Director. The film is being shown on Neoenergia's digital platforms and on the Globoplay streaming channel. The action is part of Neoenergia's strategy for São João 2025, which has been running since the beginning of this month to reinforce the importance of safety on the electricity grid. This initiative follows on from the success of the campaign launched at this year's Carnival with Carlinhos Brown with the same objective. For the June festivities, the company is featuring the voice of northeastern singer Adelmo Casé in the new jingle. The campaigns were also designed by Propeg. "With this campaign, we wanted to transform a problem into a powerful visual reflection. Releasing balloons is a crime and poses real risks. Our idea was to raise awareness in a creative way and generate an impact that could change behavior," says Emerson Braga, CCO at Propeg.
