São João 2025: Neoenergia campaign warns about the dangers of dropping balloons at June festivities

In the new movie, a scenographic balloon is driven by a drone to make the population aware of maintaining safety on the electrical grid

 

With the arrival of the June festivities, an illegal practice still represents a major threat to electrical grid security: the release of balloons. To transform this reality, to guarantee quality energy in São João and, above all, to make the population aware of the importance of network security, Neoenergia released an advertising film in which a scenographic balloon passes through several cities, driven by a drone, with a poster that encourages the public to reflect on the following question: “Have you ever imagined if a balloon falls here?” Watch it here.

In the movie “Drone Balloon”, created by the agency Propeg, the scenographic balloon crosses the sky of cities to warn of danger. In addition to interrupting the electricity supply, the fall of balloons can cause large fires. It is important to remember that the practice is considered an environmental crime throughout the national territory (Law No. 9,605/98

).

The initiative is in addition to preventive safety actions that include continuous maintenance already carried out routinely at the company's five distributors: Neoenergia Coelba (BA), Neoenergia Cosern (RN) and Neoenergia Pernambuco (PE). The other distributors are Neoenergia Brasília (DF) and Neoenergia Elektro (SP/MS)

“We use technology creatively to provoke reflection. Upon seeing the scenographic balloon flying, people were curious and shared the experience on social media. This is the energy we want to have with the public to talk about something as essential as security on the electrical grid both in everyday life and, now, during the June festivities,” says Lorenzo Perales, Marketing Director at Neoenergia

The film is being broadcast on Neoenergia's digital platforms and on the Globoplay streaming channel. The action is part of Neoenergia's strategy for São João 2025, which has been implemented since the beginning of this month to reinforce the importance of safety with the electricity grid. This initiative is based on the success of the campaign launched during Carnival this year with Carlinhos Brown with the same objective. With this campaign, we wanted to transform a problem into a powerful visual reflection. Releasing balloons is a crime and represents real risks. Our idea was to creatively raise awareness and generate an impact that could change behaviors,” says Emerson Braga, CCO
