Business Energy

Neoenergia has a staff of professionals with diverse profiles and qualifications, who are essential to the evolution of the business.

Every large company is made up of multiple talents. In order to function fully, offer a differentiated service to its clients and achieve good results, a large company needs specialized professionals in a variety of positions. In this context, Neoenergia has employees with diverse profiles and qualifications, from technicians to executives, who together form a team with essential value for the growth and evolution of the corporation.

Expanding the national electricity system

Working as a substation engineer in Neoenergia's Transmission Department is a task that Emerson Barreto has performed with excellence since 2020. "I am proud to contribute to the expansion of the national electricity system, always focusing on technical excellence, safety and delivering sustainable results," he says.

The engineer works to ensure that each stage of the work is carried out efficiently and in line with the project's objectives, coordinating work fronts with a focus on safety, quality and meeting deadlines. "Over the years, I've taken part in strategic projects such as the Santa Luzia, Jalapão, Guanabara, Itabapoana and, currently, Alto Paranaíba lots."

Working with energy transmission requires much more than technical knowledge in electrical engineering. Emerson's day-to-day work involves mastering and integrating various disciplines such as civil, electromechanical, electrical and commissioning, as well as constantly interacting with areas such as safety, the environment, land and finance.

"Being part of complex projects of great relevance to the national electricity system allows me to expand my knowledge and contribute directly to the development of the sector and society - after all, energy is an essential asset," he concludes.

Commitment to Safety and the Environment

Participating in the birth of Termopernambuco, a thermoelectric power plant operated entirely by Neoenergia, represents one of the major milestones in the professional career of operations technician Elizabete Nascimento. She has accompanied every stage of the construction of the project, which is located in the Suape Industrial and Port Complex, in the municipality of Ipojuca, in the state of Pernambuco. It all started 22 years ago. With his knowledge, he created operational procedures that are still in force today, always with a focus on safety and excellence.

"I immersed myself in the processes with passion and technique, gaining the confidence to operate complex systems. I took part in all the strategic shutdowns, such as rotor replacements and inspections. I've experienced a lot here!I've been involved in making the plant available to meet the generations declared to the National Electricity System Operator (ONS), carrying out tests and unblocking equipment," she explains.

Elisabete points out that Termope uses a combined cycle system that combines gas and steam turbines to generate energy. "We use seawater to cool the low-energy steam and return it to the sea at a temperature very close to the temperature at which it was captured."

Turning challenges into development

Pedro Coelho is a Specialized Operation and Maintenance Technician at the Itapebi Hydroelectric Power Plant, a 100% Neoenergia plant that supplies the whole of southern Bahia, a professional challenge that he faces with great determination. "Working at Itapebi is challenging and rewarding. It's a dynamic plant with great systemic importance for the electricity sector. One of the differentials is that the plant has the Black Start system, which allows it to start generating energy autonomously in the event of a total blackout. This shows how strategic we are for the stability of the electricity system," he says.

Pedro is also involved in the development of the hydroelectric plant's technicians. "Working in the electricity sector is a privilege. We prioritize safety and well-being. This gives us a daily but enjoyable challenge," he says."Everyone is focused on being a benchmark in the energy sector, investing in technology and innovation for a sustainable future," he concludes.

Renewable energy that transforms

Ensuring the availability and generation of wind turbines is a task that Fagner Silva does with competence and pride. Working for Neoenergia since 2012, Fagner works as a Specialized Wind Maintenance Technician, coordinating teams that take care of the Oitis wind complex (Bahia/Piauí) and supporting the regional team that serves the Rio do Fogo, Mel, Arizona and Calangos wind farms.

Responsible for coordinating the teams carrying out scheduled maintenance and ensuring compliance with safety regulations, the technician challenges himself on a daily basis to ensure the efficient operation of the wind turbines, maintaining high levels of availability and energy generation.

Fagner understands his role in renewable energy and in the world. "Renewable energy operations have a promising future, marked by constant growth driven by technological evolution and the growing demand for sustainable solutions. I believe that among the main innovations, we can highlight the improvement of wind turbines, which are becoming larger and more efficient in generating energy, contributing to a more balanced and logically conscious energy system, " he said.

For him, working at Neoenergia means being in an environment of innovation, collaboration and growth. "Being recognized for making a difference is motivating, as it reinforces that our work contributes directly to Neoenergia's overall success," he concludes.

Prospecting customers

Analyzing the market and identifying specific and potential Medium and High Voltage customers to migrate from the Regulated Contracting Environment (ACR) to the Free Contracting Environment (ACL). This is the main activity carried out by Daíse Oliveira, who works as a Sales Consultant for the Free Energy Market.

"My routine involves carrying out economic feasibility studies and developing effective customer retention strategies. To do this, I analyze market trends, identify opportunities for optimization and collaborate in the construction of proposals that add value in saving the client's energy costs."

The consultant points out that as well as selling energy and energy solutions, her work helps clients boost the success of their businesses by optimizing energy and economic efficiency. "With well-planned strategies, it is possible to achieve savings of up to 35% on energy bills, allowing companies to redirect these resources to other strategic areas and become more competitive in the market," she says.

Daíse began her professional journey at Neoenergia in 2015. In those 10 years, she has had the opportunity to work in three of the company's companies, always focused on strengthening customer relations, an experience that has given her a broad view of the sector. "What delights me most about Neoenergia is the possibility of continuous growth and professional development within the company itself."

In charge of assets

It was in 2018 that Carlos Renan Liborio joined Neoenergia, shortly before the creation of the Renewables Operations Center (CORE). At the company, he began his career as an Operations Technician, a position responsible for supervising, commanding and controlling renewable assets (wind, solar and hydro) in real time.

On a day-to-day basis, his work routine involves a variety of activities, from simple operational tasks to more complex ones that require quick decision-making.

"My main challenge is to control the volume of water in the plants during floods. In this role, you have to stay focused to make the right decision at the right time," he says.

Participating in the birth of the Chafariz and Oitis wind farms and the Luzia Solar Complex was one of the most memorable moments for the technician. "I carried out the first energization test, directly from the CORE. I closed the circuit breaker, energizing the transformer for the first time. Over the phone, I heard the noise of the equipment and people applauding," he recalls proudly. To do his job, Renan says you need to have a good technical knowledge of power generation, electrical machines and hydrology. "It's also important to know how to work as part of a team and have good communication skills," he concludes.

Real-time monitoring

At Neoenergia for more than 10 years, Thalia Xavier beganher career at the company as an intern until she became the Transmission Operations Center Operator, where she is responsible for monitoring the company's assets in real time, analyzing data and making decisions to avoid or resolve possible failures.

Her activities also include coordinating maneuvers and maintenance on the system, interacting with field teams, the National Electric System Operator (ONS) and other agents in the electricity sector.

"I think the biggest point of curiosity for anyone entering an operations center is the number of screens on the desks and the screens on the walls.Everything here needs to be very visual to help us make decisions in a few minutes," she warns.

Thalia highlights the atmosphere of partnership between coworkers. "What I like most about Neoenergia is learning from people and our collaborative atmosphere.I'm very happy here," she concludes.
