Acquisition foresees contributions of more than R$ 63 million between 2021 and 2023, with the objective of enabling infrastructure for substations and emergency situations
Neoenergia began to receive new mobile substations that are part of an investment package totaling R$ 63 million by 2023 and aims to strengthen the operation in four distributors of the group — Neoenergia Coelba (BA), Neoenergia Cosern (RN), Neoenergia Elektro (SP and MS) and Neoenergia Brasília (DF). Five equipment slated to provide more quality and reliability to the electrical system were purchased both in emergency situations and in asset expansion, maintenance and modernization actions.
The substations will be positioned at strategic points of the concession areas, and may be shifted to the necessary points for works in existing projects or transformer failures, for example. " We acquire the models of mobile substations with the most modern technology in the global market, after thorough study to suit our needs. Thus, we can go beyond the traditional use, which is to reduce the interruption time in emergencies, benefiting from the equipment to maintain quality and reliability during the works and enabling new investments", says the superintendent of Networks and Substations of Neoenergia, Jader Carneiro.

One of the chosen models brings together all the equipment in one vehicle. The mobile substation is equipped with fiber optic temperature measurement technology and redundancy for protection, reducing interference and increasing safety. There is also communication with the Integrated Operations Center (IOC) of the distributors, transmitting information about the conditions in real time.
The other model, to meet Neoenergia, is the modular, in which there are three equipments. "The parts are plug-in-connected, making it easier for teams to work on the field. The modular mobile substation benefits especially areas of difficult access because they have reduced dimensions, which improves and gives faster transport", explains Jader Carneiro. Each mobile substation operates with a capacity to supply reliable electricity supply to more than 25,000 customers.
