The first three nacelles out of the 136 that will form the wind turbines of Chafariz Wind Complex had their delivery journeys started on Thursday (25). With around 70 tonnes, the equipment manufactured by Siemens/Gamesa will cover approximately one thousand kilometers to the facilities of the complex in Santa Luzia, Paraíba. The nationally manufactured nacelles are developed in Camaçari, in Bahia, and will be installed at a height of 84 meters, which is equivalent to a 28-story building, moving shovels that reach 129 meters in diameter. Altogether, the project will have 136 wind turbines in 15 wind farms, one of the most modern models in the global market.

The complex, when fully completed in 2022, will have an installed capacity of 471.2 MW of clean and renewable energy. Since the beginning of the works, in October 2019, approximately 1,400 jobs have been created. The construction of the farms also benefited the region with volunteering social and environmental actions, such as the training and hiring of professionals and the donation of solar panels to schools and public healthcare units. The municipalities in Paraíba Hinterland will continue to receive investments from Neoenergia, with the implementation of a transmission line and the company's first big-sized solar plant.
