Neoenergia, UNICEF and Government of Pernambuco present results of children's literacy program
Representatives of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Government of Pernambuco met this Monday (25), together with funding partners to present the results of the Integrated Education Program (PEI), initiative of the Education Department of Pernambuco, having UNICEF as its technical partner and Instituto Neoenergia, through Celpe, as its funding party. This joint mobilization focuses on the learning started in the early stages of schooling, seeking to ensure inclusive and quality literacy for each child.
The program adopts as a strategy the training of teachers and municipal managers, as well as the qualification of pedagogical environments to enhance practices committed to learning at the right time. Throughout 2018, more than 70,000 children in 385 schools in 15 Pernambuco municipalities were benefited. The training involved more than 3,800 early childhood teachers, as well as those working early schooling years with to build a renewed, committed and connected practice with each child.
AGENDA
Monday's agenda starts with a breakfast with Governor Paulo Câmara, at which time UNICEF representatives and partners will present the results of the Integrated Education Program in 2018 and discuss next steps for 2019. Then, the delegation will go to Di Branco Recepções, in the Madalena district, where the Program State Seminar will take place, which is an exhibition of good practices already implemented by teachers participating in the training.
The 15 municipalities participating in the program will present some experiences that stood out in classrooms in 2018, based on a sample of the experiences made by the groups of students who will be present. The environment will be decorated in a way that simulates the “reading nooks and other experiences" implemented in schools, creating a playful and cozy setting that can be well explored in the images and interviews with characters.
