Rio de Janeiro, August 23, 2023

This Wednesday, the Neoenergia Institute announced the list of female leaders shortlisted to compete for the Inspire 2023 Award. At this stage, 55 candidates are eligible to continue the evaluation process. Now, they will undergo an analysis to qualify the proposals until the popular vote, which is scheduled for September 9. The prize will distribute a total of R$ 140,000 to 16 winners (13 chosen by popular vote and three by an expert committee).

In its third edition, the initiative will recognize female leaders who have been working for at least one year in the field of art and culture, with a positive impact on areas of social vulnerability in six states — Bahia, Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte and São Paulo — and in the Federal District.

“We are committed to expanding the role of women in Brazilian society. For this reason, this initiative is so important to strengthen women's work in art and culture” , says Renata Chagas, director of the Neoenergia Institute.

Of the total number of winners, three are still selected by the External Committee of Experts for the award, for cultural merit; and the other 13, by popular vote. In São Paulo, registrations were valid for municipalities in the Neoenergy Elektro concession areas. In Rio de Janeiro, candidates must work in the capital and in cities of the Baixada Fluminense. In the other states and in the Federal District, all locations are covered.

The Inspire Prize is organized by the Neoenergia Institute, with the collaboration of the company's five distributors — Neoenergy Brasília (DF), Neoenergy Coelba (BA), Neoenergy Cosern (RN), Neoenergy Elektro (SP/MS), Neoenergy Pernambuco (PE) — in addition to the technical partnership of Baluarte Cultura.
