With work 100% complete, the project will increase transmission capacity between the northern region of Minas Gerais and São Paulo

Neoenergia has just delivered the last stretch of the Alto Paranaíba transmission line. With the completion of the works and the entry into commercial operation, the project increases the transmission capacity between the northern region of Minas Gerais and São Paulo, taking into account updated potentials that are more in line with the current context of expanding renewable energy sources. As a result, Neoenergia is adding around R$432 million to its Annual Permitted Revenue (RAP), considering the entire project.

"We are very proud to have delivered the last stretch of this project. We have qualified teams focused on their deliveries. This is a reflection of Neoenergia's commitment to excellence and the development of the Brazilian electricity sector," said Eduardo Capelastegui, CEO of Neoenergia.

The works were completed more than 21 months ahead of the deadline set by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), with investments of approximately R$4.3 billion. In this way, Neoenergia reinforces its commitment to sustainable development and the energy transition in Brazil, which requires greater integration and reinforcement of energy transmission.

The Alto Paranaíba lot was won by the company in the National Electric Energy Agency auction (ANEEL No. 001/2022) and includes Neoenergia's largest transmission line, 1,600 kilometers long, with 3,250 towers. The project also installed a new substation (Ponte Nova 3 with 500kV) and expanded five others.
