More for sport: Neoenergia announces support for the Caixa 2025 Youth Games

8/13/25

A partner of the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB), the company is sponsoring the competition for the first time with funds from the Sports Incentive Law.

For the first time, Neoenergia will be present at the Caixa 2025 Youth Games. The company has just announced the contribution of funds, through the Sports Incentive Law, which represents another step forward in the partnership with the Brazilian Olympic Committee. The event is promoted by the BOC every year and will bring together more than 4,500 athletes in high-level competitions in 20 sports. This year's edition takes place from September 10 to 25 in Brasília, where Neoenergia is present through its distributor, Neoenergia Brasília, serving around 1.1 million customers.

In addition to the sports competitions, the event will host other activities, such as sustainability actions with the public. To give you an idea of the scale of the competition, the operation for this edition includes more than 40,000 nights' accommodation, around 70,000 meals, plus 13 truckloads of material.

Currently recognized as the company in the electricity sector that most supports women's sport in Brazil, Neoenergia continues to expand the brand's connection with the public through the sports universe. "By supporting the Youth Games, Neoenergia is reinforcing its partnership with the BOC to put Brazilian Olympic sport on the top step of the podium. We continue to promote women's sport in the country, expanding our brand's connection with the public based on values linked to equal opportunities and sustainability. This is the energy we're taking to Brasilia, where we are present in distribution, to inspire grassroots athletes to overcome challenges in search of new achievements," says Lorenzo Perales, Neoenergia's Marketing Director.

More support for women's sport and sustainable development
The executive adds that the partnership with the COB, signed last year, allows Neoenergia to reinforce its commitment to the development of women's sport in the country, including the athletes who represent Time Brasil. The union of the two brands also contributes to making Brazilian Olympic sport even more sustainable. Since March, Neoenergia has guaranteed the supply of 100% renewable electricity, on the free market, to the Time Brasil Training Center in Rio de Janeiro. This initiative allows the BOC to zero out emissions related to scope 2, which deals specifically with electricity consumption; and to save around R$1.4 million on the CT's energy costs by the end of this year.

Neoenergia Team

Neoenergia also promotes women's sport through Team Neoenergia, which already has eight athletes from different sports disciplines. The sponsorship contributed, for example, to the qualification of three athletes for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The athletes are: Bia Souza (judo); Ana Marcela (open water); Antonia Silva (soccer); Ana Vitória Magalhães, Tota (cycling); Bruna Kajiya (kitesurfing); Mirelle Leite (athletics); Celine Bispo (swimming); and Rayane Soares (paralympic athletics).
