Energy Classes
The Energy Classes spaces are educational projects that are part of the Energy Efficiency Program of the distributors of the Neoenergia Group, regulated by ANEEL
The spaces disseminate concepts related to the rational use of electricity and environmental resources, with activities aimed at training teachers, students and the visiting public. The project is cooperative and allows the joint action of the three Neoenergia distributors, with economies of scale, complementary skills and application of best practices
.

Specific Objectives
- Learn about different energy production processes - renewable and non-renewable;
- Reflect on the environmental effects resulting from the different types of energy production;
- Absorb specific knowledge about the wind, solar and hydro energy production process;
- Understand the influence of technological development on living conditions and the preservation of the environment, evaluating the advances generated by these renewable energy sources.
- To awaken awareness about attitudes and responsibility in the use of energy in everyday life.

Target audience and expected results
The educational syllabus is essentially aimed at elementary, secondary, technical and higher education students and teachers of the school units covered by the project, as well as communities and visitors in general.
- Students and the Community: it is intended to awaken interest in issues related to the responsible and safe production and use of energy in everyday life e.
- Teachers: Accompany with the students the activities and themes proposed by the project, to pass on other topics related to expectations of awakening awareness and strengthening students' commitment to the responsible and safe use of energy.

Summary of the pedagogical proposal
- The syllabus proposed by the ENERGY CLASSES project is based on the themes RENEWABLE ENERGY, WIND ENERGY, SOLAR ENERGY AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY;
- The main objectives of the project are to collaborate with the construction of knowledge, the full development of potential and inclusion in the social environment of the participating students;
- In this way, it is intended to contribute to the transformation of the perception of these students in relation to issues related to energy production and consumption and its effects on the environment and on society as a whole;
- In addition to absorbing the expected knowledge, the project activities aim to provoke in the participants a reflection on the energy issue from the point of view of ethics, economic development and the safeguarding of material, intangible and environmental heritage.
Electricity concession or permit companies must invest 0.4% of their annual net operating revenue in Energy Efficiency programs. This is established by Law 9,991, of July 24, 2000, and regulations of the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL
).Of the total invested annually, at least 60% are intended to subsidize residential consumers who benefit from the social energy tariff. The action complies with Law 12,212 of January 20, 2010.
Following legal obligations, the distributors of the Neoenergia Group — Neoenergia Coelba (BA), Neoenergia Pernambuco (PE), Neoenergia Cosern (RN), Neoenergia Elektro (SP) and Neoenergia Brasília (DF) — invest in projects aimed at energy efficiency. The initiatives include residential consumers, public authorities, commerce and services, industries, and educational establishments. The projects also stand out for promoting citizen education regarding efficient energy consumption

The Energy Classes project maintains the spaces:
- Energy Museum Space and Espaço Maker Space, in Bahia,
- Noronha Solar Power Plant Space, in Pernambuco
- Ecoposto Wind Energy Space in Rio Grande do Norte.
All spaces are open to the public upon prior appointment and allow visitors, in addition to experiencing the generation of electricity in a renewable power plant, to interact with various educational resources such as experiments, models, panels, videos, etc., under the supervision of trained personnel, encouraging organic and meaningful learning.
