Neoenergia and CCR Group conclude wind power self-production agreement
Infrastructure and mobility company becomes minority partner in three Neoenergia wind generation plants in Piauí
Neoenergia and the CCR Group, leading companies in their markets, announced on Wednesday (29) that they had met all the conditions precedent and were thus able to proceed with the closing of the transaction that enabled the structuring and feasibility of self-production of electricity by equalization, in which the mobility infrastructure company becomes a partner in three plants of the Neoenergia Oitis wind complex, located in Piauí.
The agreement provides CCR with access to the energy produced by the Oitis 2, Oitis 4 and Oitis 6 plants, which will meet 60% of the company's current demand. This is the first self-production project for the mobility group, which operates São Paulo's metro and CPTM lines.
In total, 44 megawatts (MWm) of Oitis' production will be used for the energy consumption of CCR's subsidiaries for a period of 16 years. Under the self-production model, the energy consumer buys shares or invests in a plant together with the electricity company, becoming a self-producer. This guarantees incentives that reduce costs.
The deal is in line with Neoenergia's strategy of driving a cleaner and more efficient energy future for all. This partnership supports the company's decarbonization journey towards the energy transition. It meets our strategy of driving a more sustainable energy future for all.
CCR said that this agreement is part of its commitment to have 100% of its assets supplied by renewable energy sources by 2025.
