Neoenergia Institute, in partnership with COOPCESP and Andradina Department of Education, inaugurated last week a new classroom at the Humberto Passarelli Municipal Elementary School, where scenic art classes will be held during in-school and after-school periods, for students from 2nd to 5th grade. The initiative is part of the Mentes Brilhantes (Bright Minds) project, a project developed by Elektro through the Federal Culture Incentive Law (Rouanet Law), which will develop children's social and emotional skills, involving creativity, art and communication, boosting academic performance, and offering vocational guidance and psychopedagogical accompaniment.
The project includes the refurbishment of a school area to host the activities, which will feature theater teachers. “In class, teachers will work with students to develop expression and self-esteem, characteristics that make all the difference in a child's life. In addition, this is an opportunity to handle more complex topics, such as bullying, in a playful way, with a language that is easy to understand", comments Renata Chagas, Officer of Neoenergia Institute.
The partnership lasts until December 2019 and will be developed in three other schools in the city: EMEI Ondina Hofig de Castilho, EMEF Leonor Salomão and EMEF Josepha de Jesus Carreira. The expectation is to include about one thousand students and, that, later, the schools absorb the initiative, ensuring its continuity and project sustainability.
