With an investment of R$8.6 million, Neoenergia Elektro'snew plant in Limeira (SP) is equipped with the most modern technologies and monitors the electricity grid in real time, allowing the company to anticipate occurrences and minimize impacts on the population.

Neoenergia Elektro announced on Wednesday the inauguration of a new Integrated Operations Center (COI) in Limeira (SP). The initiative is part of the actions to innovate and modernize the electricity system in the 228 municipalities served by the Neoenergia concessionaire, in the states of São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul. The new space will be responsible for acting in contingency situations (backup).

With an investment of R$8.6 million in infrastructure, equipment and state-of-the-art technology, the center will monitor, in real time, what is going on in the entire electricity network, carrying out work similar to what the main IOC already does in Campinas (SP). In this way, it will be possible to increase the capacity for action and the agility of the operation in cases of contingency.

The new center has 15 positions for controllers, analysts and operating engineers who will monitor the electrical system. The structure also has a big screen that shows a real-time X-ray of the power system. The Limeira IOC will also be able to operate uninterruptedly 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Innovation - The workstations in the new Operations Center are equipped with six monitors, tracking different indicators and variables, with remote monitoring and other technical systems. The information provided by the systems offers controllers numerous possibilities for analysis, as well as alarms to support decision-making.

Among the infrastructure innovations is a video wall display of a weather forecasting system that helps teams map critical rainfall points, anticipating decision-making and allowing them to act more quickly in emergency situations. The system also makes it possible to monitor the number of teams needed to respond to incidents, increasing the company's management capacity and bringing benefits to the population.

Another new feature is the implementation of a system that associates individual complaint records to remotely identify the extent of a problem, facilitating decisions and reducing response times.

"The IOC gives us an overview of everything that is happening on the network. The system allows us to anticipate the identification of problems so that we can direct the solution to the situation more quickly, assertively and safely, ensuring better management of the teams," explains Jose Aparecido da Silva, Neoenergia Elektro's Distribution Operations Manager.
