Neoenergia ended the year with all its distributors framed in the quality indicators determined by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), both for Equivalent Interruption Duration per Consumer (DEC) and for the Equivalent Frequency of Interruption per Consumer (FEC) – as pointed out in the report of financial and operational results 2022 and the fourth quarter of the year. The highlight of the period was Neoenergia Brasília, which framed the DEC in the last quarter of 2022. It is worth remembering that in the business plan of the acquisition, these indicators had a framework forecast for 2023.
The DEC shows the time interval in which each consumer, on average, ran out of electricity, considering interruptions equal to or greater than three minutes. On the other hand, the FEC presents the number of interruptions that each consumer, on average, suffered, considering interruptions equal to or greater than three minutes. In the case of Neoenergia Brasília, the DEC for the quarter stood at 6.65, for the first time below the limit of 7.59 established by ANEEL. The distributor's FEC, which has been in place since the first quarter of 2022, recorded 5.72 in the quarter in the analysis, with a limit of 5.77.
" We closed 2022 serving 16 million consumers. Compared to 2021, there was an increase of 295,000 customers, an increase of 1.9%. Important investments were made throughout the year, which caused some results projections to be anticipated, such as the framing of indicators by Neoenergia Brasília," says Fúlvio Machado, Executive Director of Neoenergia's Network Business.
Neoenergia's investments in the Networks business totaled R$ 5.5 billion, of which R$ 3.2 billion were allocated to the expansion of networks in 2022, being: most of the resources dedicated to the new connections, with R$ 1.4 billion; and the facilities of new substations and distribution networks, with a total of R$ 1.06 billion.
Net income from the Redes business ended the quarter at R$ 1.05 billion and the year at R$ 4.5 billion, an increase of 9% over 2021. It is worth highlighting the positive impact of the recognition of R$ 678 million resulting from the incorporation of Bahia PCH III by Neoenergia Brasília in the third quarter.
EBITDA was R$ 2.6 billion in the fourth quarter of the year, up 5% from 4Q21, and R$ 9.9 billion in 2022 (+11% vs. 2021). Cash EBITDA was R$ 2.1 billion in the fourth quarter (+18% vs. 4Q21) and R$ 7.8 billion in 2022 (+28% vs. 2021).
Total losses continue with a downward trajectory in the last 12 months and fell in three of the five distributors compared to the third quarter of 2022, especially Neoenergia Brasília, which was framed in the regulatory limit two years ahead of schedule in the acquisition business plan.
