With the objective of providing well-being to people at social risk, Operation Quilo, a voluntary action by Neoenergia employees, was a success this year. Over 42.5 tons of food were donated to about 11,000 people, through 134 social assistance institutions in locations where the company operates in five states (BA, PE, RN, RJ and SP), in addition to the
Federal District.
This year, the initiative registered an increase in donations made by employees from all areas, including headquarters, wind and solar farms, and the five distributors — Neoenergia Brasília (DF), Neoenergia Coelba (BA), Neoenergia Cosern (RN), Neoenergia Elektro (SP/MS) and Neoenergia Pernambuco (PE).
“ The feeling is one of great satisfaction on the part of the volunteers who were engaged in the collection and delivery of the items. Once again, our team shows its power and commitment to internal mobilization to combat hunger in the country,” says Clayton Urbano, coordinator of the Volunteer Program and manager of Internal Communication and Culture at Neoenergia.
O executivo reforça que Operation Quilo is aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger and Sustainable Agriculture.
