Coastal regions, which receive a large number of tourists during the New Year celebrations, receive special attention

Neoenergia's distributors that serve tourist centers on the Brazilian coast have already been given operational reinforcements to guarantee the power supply for the arrival of 2025. As there is a large influx of tourists on the coasts of the states of Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte, Bahia and São Paulo, the companies have expanded the supply of resources and teams on the streets in view of the increase in energy consumption in these regions.

Neoenergia Pernambuco has invested R$90 million in improvements and has increased its workforce by 40% to ensure rapid response to eventualities. The aim is to minimize impacts on the more than 3 million Pernambucans and tourists expected during the period. The Integrated Operations Center (COI) alone, which monitors the energy supply to the distributor's more than 4.1 million customers, has 20% more controllers.

Neoenergia Pernambuco's preventive work also included around 77 improvement works and approximately 30,000 maintenance actions on the North, South and Fernando de Noronha coasts alone. All stretches of beach were inspected and corrected to avoid possible interruptions caused by the system.

In São Paulo, Neoenergia Elektro invested around R$37 million in preventive maintenance specifically for the summer. The distributor also has a 20% increase in its workforce, including electricians, technicians, engineers, electrical system controllers and operational support professionals. The company has carried out work to reinforce and improve the electricity system to meet the increase in demand during the season. Of particular note is the operation on the coast of São Paulo, where the concessionaire distributes power to 11 municipalities. The work is monitored by the IOC in Campinas, which makes it possible to follow the operation of the 159 electrical substations and the position of all the teams in the field. The distributor also has a Backup Operations Center in Limeira (SP), ready to be used in case of operational need.

In Rio Grande do Norte, Neoenergia Cosern has invested around R$33 million in preventive maintenance specifically for the summer. For New Year's Eve, the special scheme involves around 200 professionals such as electricians, technicians, engineers, controllers and operational support staff. This number represents an increase of 150% compared to a typical day in the operation monitored in real time by the IOC in Natal. The action for the season began in July and will continue until Carnival.

In Bahia, Neoenergia Coelba preventively inspected around 13,000 kilometers of the electricity grid and mobilized more than 2,000 electricians to deal with any emergencies. The distributor also mapped 52 locations with the highest number of people circulating and carried out the necessary actions on the system. From Neoenergia Coelba's IOC, the electricity system is being monitored in real time, which also includes meteorological monitoring to anticipate any possible weather adversity. Nine mobile substations are strategically positioned to increase energy capacity and guarantee a safe energy supply in these 52 locations. Automatic reconnection equipment, or self-healing, has been installed and allows the supply to be restored in up to 60 seconds.
