Paraíso Project (Mato Grosso do Sul) is 100% complete with delivery of the last stretch two years ahead of schedule

Neoenergia has just completed the Paraíso power transmission line project in Mato Grosso do Sul. The delivery of the last stretch for the start of commercial operation was brought forward two years ahead of the deadline set by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel). The project guarantees the company a RAP (Permitted Annual Revenue) of around R$ 43 million.

The early completion of the works reinforces Neoenergia's commitment to sustainable development and the energy transition in Brazil, which requires greater integration and reinforcement of energy transmission. Paraíso was won by Neoenergia in an Aneel auction in June 2022.

"The commercial operation of the stretch gives greater robustness to the SIN (National Integrated System), ensuring greater security and reliability, in a scenario of great expansion of renewable energy generation, which brings an additional challenge to the operation of the system," says Fabiano Uchoas, Neoenergia's Transmission Business Director.

The Paraíso project included the construction of the Campo Grande 2 (230kV) and Chapadão (230kV) transmission lines; the new Paraíso 2 substation (230kV/138 kV) with 300 MVA of transformation power; and the expansion of two substations. The works made it possible to connect the local distributor and small power plants (PCHs) to the SIN.
