In yet another initiative to improve the specialized workforce in the Brazilian electricity sector, Neoenergia is open for enrollment until January 19 for its first class of the Integrated Operations Center (IOC) Operator School. The aim is to form a talent pool with professionals previously trained for the role of operator in the concession areas of the five distributors present in the states of Bahia, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Norte and Pernambuco, as well as the Federal District. Click here to register.

Held in partnership with SENAI, the course will be free and 100% digital. The program is aimed at external candidates and Neoenergia employees living in the cities of Campinas, Natal, Recife, Salvador and Brasília, including nearby regions. A mixed class of 25 students will be formed, with vacancies for all of Neoenergia's distributors: 9 vacancies for Neoenergia Coelba (BA); 3 vacancies for Neoenergia Cosern (RN); 3 vacancies for Neoenergia Brasília (DF); 4 vacancies for Neoenergia Elektro (SP); and 6 vacancies for Neoenergia Pernambuco (PE).

"The initiative represents an important milestone for Neoenergia. We are investing in the training of qualified professionals, capable of working with excellence in our Integrated Operations Centers. As well as strengthening our talent pool, we are offering a free training opportunity that contributes to the development of the communities where we operate," says Fabio Folchetti, Neoenergia's HR director.

Committed to the development of the country's electricity sector, Neoenergia has been a pioneer in offering classes exclusively for women at the Electricians' School since 2019. More than 6,000 students have already graduated, including more than 1,000 women, about 75% of whom have been hired by the company. Neoenergia's project has been recognized by UN Women and was highlighted at the World Economic Forum as a global benchmark for diversity, equity and inclusion.

Selection of candidates

The selection process for the IOC Operators School will be carried out in stages: registration, screening of mandatory requirements; interview with an external consultancy; behavioral tests applied by the external consultancy; interview with leaders and approval for free training.

Among the mandatory requirements, candidates must have: complete technical training in Electrotechnics, Electro-electronics, Mechatronics and/or Automation (emphasis on electrical); active CFT; a minimum age of 18; live in one of the cities covered or nearby regions; have broadband internet access and basic knowledge of how to use the virtual learning environment.
