Neoenergia Institute strengthens creative economy with Culture Energy Caravan
In its first edition, the initiative promoted qualification courses for more than 40 cultural market professionals in five Brazilian locations in the 2024-2025 cycle
With a commitment to strengthening the country's creative economy and encouraging the professionalization of cultural project management, the Neoenergia Institute has just announced the results of the first edition of the "Culture Energy Caravan" program for the 2024-2025 cycle. More than 40 professionals linked to the cultural market in five Brazilian locations where Neoenergia is present - Araras (SP), Brasília (DF), Feira de Santana (BA), Mogi Guaçu (SP) and Mossoró (RN) - benefited from free labor qualification courses. Also noteworthy were the classes and other activities on financing and cultural management, which totaled around 220 hours of training and resulted in hundreds of certificates being issued.
"The program has been consolidating itself as an important initiative for professionals in the cultural field to improve their knowledge free of charge. This shows how social investment is an inclusion tool capable of expanding job and income opportunities. Our proposal is to improve technical qualifications, stimulating local collaborative networks and contributing to the advancement of the creative economy as a whole," says Renata Chagas, CEO of the Neoenergia Institute.
The 2024-2025 cycle of the Culture Energy Caravan was carried out by the Neoenergia Institute in partnership with the Culture & Market organization. The program also received funding from the Federal Culture Incentive Law (Rouanet Law). Another highlight was the appreciation of each location's cultural traditions through music and theater, such as the performances by the Panelinha de Teatro company in Mossoró (RN); artist Maria Struduth in Feira de Santana (BA); rapper Fillipe Costta in the Federal District (DF); and the Orquestra de Violeiros in Araras (SP).
For advertising executive Ricardson Carmo, who works as a cultural mediator in Sesc's Sonora Brasil and Visual Narratives projects in Feira de Santana (BA), the program represents an opportunity for professional expansion. "The Energy Caravan of Culture is an important ally for those who make culture. The project has a whole baggage, a whole repertoire of maintenance on how to create these projects, how to prepare them and how to get them to the final public," he concludes.
