Field Safety

Check out field safety tips.

Safety in the field is paramount to guarantee the planting and cultivation of all the food and raw materials used on a daily basis. The high production, from planting and harvesting to the development, of fundamental products and services requires the correct and conscious use of energy.

To do this, check out some tips that help reduce the risks of accidents and misuse of electricity in the production process of consumer goods.
Watch out for bulk and dump trucks close to the network.
Never fire near or under the electrical grid.
Prevent vegetation from getting close to the electrical grid.
Be careful with agricultural machinery. Keep your distance from the power grid.
Irrigation equipment must be kept away from the electrical grid.
Avoid burning household waste in backyards or in front of your house, as fire can reach the electrical grid.
Do not plant sugarcane, eucalyptus, and other large fruit or ornamental tree species under transmission lines and distribution networks. Vegetation can touch the wiring, cause accidents and the line to shut down.
Always be very careful when handling branches and vines, keeping a safe distance from the electrical grid.
Before cutting tree branches, check that they are not in contact or close to the electrical grid (in this situation, call your state's energy distributor and request the service).
Be careful with the electrical network when using agricultural machinery, respecting the distance to avoid accidents while moving the machinery. The stands (steel cables that help support the pole) should never be removed to make room for planting, for example.
Never park the harvester under the mains.
Lower the spray bars when passing under the wires.
Be careful when regulating irrigation equipment in areas close to electrical grids. If the water jet hits the wires, a short circuit may occur.
Do not plant or build buildings on easement strips.
