First Brazilian woman to win individual event at the Olympic Games

Raised in Peruíbe, on the coast of São Paulo, Bia Souza became the first Brazilian woman to become an Olympic Games champion when she stood on the top step of the podium at Paris 2024. The athlete, who also has a career with relevant results achieved before the Paris Olympics, is a 3rd sergeant in the Brazilian Army and has already stood on the podiums of world and Pan-American championships 21 times between 2017 and 2024.
Bia had her first major achievement at the World Championships in 2017 with silver in Budapest, in the mixed team tournament. In the same city in 2021, she took bronze in the individual tournament. She is a four-time Pan American champion (2017, 21, 22, 23) and three-time World champion (2019, 21, 23).

I like to wear the same white T-shirt and top. And also watch a series or movie.
Do you have any hobbies?
Cooking and reading.
What's your favorite series/movie?
Greys Anatomy and Harry Potter.
How did sport come into your life?
Because of my father, who is a retired judoka, and because I was a child with a lot of energy to spare. My father came up with the idea of taking me to a judo training session and I fell in love with the sport and haven't left the mat since.
