Palácio da Alvorada will be 100% powered by renewable energy
Partnership between Neoenergia and the Federal Government will generate savings of R$ 1 million a year for the public coffers
Neoenergia, in partnership with the Federal Government, through the Civil House, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) and the Presidency of the Republic, begins construction of a photovoltaic solar plant at the Alvorada Palace this month. The initiative will provide annual savings of over R$ 1 million to the public coffers and meets the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 of the United Nations General Assembly, called “Affordable and Clean Energy”
.The investment, exceeding R$ 3.5 million, made possible by the Energy Efficiency Program (PEE) of the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), will allow the construction of a solar plant with a capacity of 1,095 kWp. The volume of 1,500 MWh/year will be sufficient to fully cover the consumption of the Palácio da Alvorada
.Since March 2021, Neoenergia Brasília has implemented strategies to reduce environmental impacts in public buildings in Brasilia and promote the sustainable use of energy. Institutions such as the Federal Police, Aeronautics, Brazilian Army, University of Brasília (UnB) and Supreme Federal Court (STF) already have a renewable energy generation system. New partnerships are planned for 2025, including the National Justice Council (CNJ
