Neoenergia Steps Up Operations for the Second Round of the 2026 Elections
The utility company will have staff on call at the TSE headquarters in Brasília to ensure a steady power supply during voting and vote countingthis Sunday (25)
Operational capacity may increase by up to 36% on election days within the company’s service areas
Neoenergia has set up a special operational plan to ensure the continuity of the electricity supply during the second round of the elections, which will take place next Sunday (25). In the federal capital, Neoenergia Brasília will have on-call teams at the headquarters of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), which will tabulate the results from polling stations across the country. These efforts will be particularly intensified during the vote-counting process, when the utility’s staff will be mobilized to monitor the power grid’s condition and respond quickly to any incidents.
As in Brasília, the Group’s other four utilities will strengthen their operational infrastructure, increasing the number of staff on duty and on call by an average of 30 percent, in addition to monitoring weather conditions. Operators and technical teams will be stationed at strategic locations to respond to incidents, in communication with the regional electoral courts in each state.
At Neoenergia Cosern, Neoenergia Elektro, Neoenergia Pernambuco, Neoenergia Brasília, and Neoenergia Coelba, information about the power grid will be monitored in real time, enabling the swift deployment of field teams and rapid decision-making when necessary.
In preparation for the first round, Neoenergia’s distribution companies had already conducted inspections and preventive maintenance on more than 130,000 kilometers of power grid in areas near polling stations and electoral zones.

Federal District
For the second round, the company will increase its field technician contingent by more than 35% and its Integrated Operations Center (COI) staff by 30%. Additional personnel will be deployed based on voter density at the 614 polling places in the Federal District, travel time, and the criticality of the power circuits.
The structure will also include staff mobilized at the COI, members of the Solutions HQ, and representatives in direct communication with the Brasília Integrated Operations Center (CIOB).
Bahia
Neoenergia Coelba has planned a 25% increase in the number of control operators, in addition to a special roster of engineers, coordinators, and analysts. Substations and mobile transformers will be available to expand response capacity if necessary. The team will also have an automated tool for proactively monitoring polling places, vote-counting centers, and other strategic facilities.
Neoenergia Coelba will maintain representatives at the Regional Electoral Court of Bahia (TRE) and the Integrated Command and Control Center (CICC) throughout the operation. An exclusive channel will also be established between the Regional Electoral Court of Bahia and the utility’s Integrated Operations Center, designed to prioritize and monitor incidents related to power supply at facilities involved in the electoral process.
Pernambuco
Neoenergia Pernambuco will increase the number of mobilized staff by 30%, with more than 50 professionals providing 24-hour monitoring. This infrastructure will serve the 3,389 polling places throughout Pernambuco, including 15 locations deemed priority sites by the Regional Electoral Court (TRE), with support from 61 operational bases and a total of 253 teams spread across the entire state.
For election weekend, the company will have four analysts dedicated to addressing TRE-related requests, two engineers on exclusive duty for election monitoring, four mobile substations positioned at strategic locations, and emergency kits distributed at pre-designated sites to expedite response in case of need.
Rio Grande do Norte
Neoenergia Cosern will increase its operational capacity by 30% for the second round, expanding the number of on-call professionals, operators, and technical teams. Additional teams will be stationed at strategic locations throughout the state and near the TRE-RN headquarters in Natal, where they will remain on standby during voting and vote counting.
The utility will also monitor polling places in real time, maintain a technical on-call roster throughout the state, and assign a dedicated professional at the Operations Center to handle requests from the Integrated Public Safety Operations Center (CIOSP).
São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul
Neoenergia Elektro may triple its operational staff in the event of incidents in the 228 municipalities where it operates in São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul. The utility will monitor election offices and polling districts in real time using automated equipment from the power grid through the Integrated Operations Center (COI), headquartered in Campinas (SP).
Through the COI, the utility will maintain dedicated communication channels with the Regional Electoral Courts of São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul, the Fire Department, Civil Defense, and government officials in both states.
