Company strengthens operational solidity with Cash EBITDA of R$3 billion, up 8%; Capex reached R$1.8 billion in the first quarter of the year

On Tuesday (28), Neoenergia announced its financial and operating results for the first quarter of 2026 (1Q26). The period saw net profit of R$1.2 billion, up 28% on the first three months of 2025.

The results show that Caixa EBITDA reached R$3 billion in the first quarter of this year, up 8% on the same period in 2025. The positive performance reflects the operational efficiency of the distributors, boosted by the Parcel B tariff adjustments, as well as the entry into operation of new transmission assets.

Operating expenses rose 7% in 1Q26 compared to the same period last year.

CAPEX

Committed to its sustainable growth strategy, Neoenergia recorded Capex of R$1.8 billion in 1Q26. Of this amount, R$1.7 billion was allocated to the distribution segment, which contributed to a Regulatory Remuneration Base (BRR) of R$45.6 billion. In this way, the company has maintained its focus on actions aimed at expanding and strengthening the distribution networks, guaranteeing the quality of the service provided to consumers.

As a result of these investments, in March Neoenergia was recognized by the Brazilian Association of Infrastructure and Basic Industries (ABDIB) as the electricity company that invested the most in infrastructure in Brazil for the second year running.

Renewal of concessions

The first quarter of 2026 brought the call for the renewal of the concessions of three of the group's distributors for another 30 years: Neoenergia Coelba, Neoenergia Cosern and Neoenergia Elektro. In 2025, Neoenergia Pernambuco signed a new concession contract with the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) until 2060. The concessionaire was the first distributor in the country to obtain the extension in advance.

Energy performance

Total injected energy, including distributed generation, rose by 1.9% in 1Q26 compared to 1Q25. In the same period, the customer base grew by 2%, underpinned by a solid collection performance.

Takeover bid

In April 2026, Iberdrola announced that it had acquired, through a takeover bid, shares representing 14.21% of Neoenergia's share capital. Each share was acquired for R$33.77, totaling R$5.8 billion.
