6/13/25

Located in Santa Catarina, a transmission stretch reinforces the availability of electricity in the SIN

Neoenergia completed the works and the start of the tests to start operating two transmission lines of the Vale do Itajaí transmission project. Located in Santa Catarina, the stretch comprises three substations and 86 kilometers of transmission lines suspended in 218 towers. The project aims to improve the availability of electricity and the reliability of the National Interconnected System (SIN)

in the region.

In Santa Catarina, the north of the state, the Itajaí Valley, will benefit, including the cities of Itajaí, Joinville, Jaraguá do Sul and Indaial. The project involves the total deployment of about 962 kilometers of transmission line circuits, in addition to three new energy substations (Joinville Sul, Jaraguá do Sul and Itajaí 2) and the expansion of three more substations (Areia, Itajaí and Biguaçu)

.

This is yet another robust delivery that will stimulate socioeconomic development in both states and strengthen the National Interconnected System. We are still working to expand the country's transmission structures, benefiting thousands of Brazilians,” says Fabiano Uchoas Ribeiro, CEO of Operations and Projects.

Currently, Neoenergia is present in transmission businesses in 15 states with 4,774,000 kilometers of transmission lines in operation and 6,520 MVA of transformation capacity. The expansion planned for 2025 will add approximately 3,4807 thousand kilometers, totaling 8,254 kilometers of transmission lines, and will bring the transformation capacity of the substations to 9,536

MVA.
