Termopernambuco

Termopernambuco (Termope), wholly owned by Grupo Neoenergia, is responsible for the implementation and operation of the Thermal Power Plant (TPP). The enterprise is able to generate up to 532 MW, from three turbines in a combined cycle system. This system operates based on a process that combines the operation of two gas turbines, driven by the combustion of natural gas, with that of a steam turbine.

The Termope PPT is responsible for producing 33% of Grupo Neoenergia's generation capacity, equivalent to more than 40% of generation in terms of effective capacity, which represents approximately one quarter of the energy consumed in Pernambuco.

The plant maintains electrical energy sales contracts (455 MW average) with two distributors of Grupo Neoenergia for a period of 20 years: Companhia Energética de Pernambuco - Celpe (390 MW average) and Companhia de Energia Elétrica do Estado da Bahia – Coelba (65 MW average).

BACKGROUND OF THE ENTERPRISE

The construction of the Termope TPP began in 2001, within the Federal Government's Thermoelectricity Priority Program. Three years later, in 2004, the plant went into commercial operation.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND QUALITY MANAGEMENT

The Termopernambuco TPP certified its Integrated Management System. This was a quality certificate awarded by means of an audit, related to the ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management) and ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management) standards.
