The Corumbá III Entrepreneur Consortium is composed of two companies: Generation III (60%) and Energetica Corumbá III S.A (40%). The first is wholly constituted by the Neoenergia Group. The second is made up of three companies: Companhia Energetica de Brasília — CEB (37.5%), Companhia Energetica de Goiás — CELG (37.5%) and Geração CIII (25.0%). From this Consortium, since October 2009, the Corumbá Hydroelectric Power Plant (Corumbá HPP) started commercial operation.

The project is located in Luziânia, in the municipality of Goiás (GO), the main area of influence of the plant. The Corumbá HPP has an installed capacity of 96.45 MW. The energy produced at the plant is sold to CEB and supplies about 10% of Brasilia's demand. In addition, the plant also plays the strategic role of guaranteeing supply to the three federal powers, in the event of problems in the supply of electricity.

History of the venture

The Corumbá III Entrepreneur Consortium obtained its concession in 2001, with the signing of the contract with the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL). But the project gained strength after the entry of Neoenergia, which made it possible to start the works in September 2006, after obtaining the Installation License in March of the same year.

Health and safety

In 2011, the plant maintained the certification of its Occupational Safety and Health Management System, in accordance with the international guidelines of the OHSAS 18001:2007. As a result of good practices, in 2012 it achieved the mark of three years of operation without any accident with removal.
