GHG Inventory

The preparation of the Greenhouse Gas Inventory allows the company to know its emissions profile in detail, allowing adequate planning for the decarbonization of its activities, greater transparency with stakeholders, greater credibility in the environmental management of its assets, identification of opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, recognizing the impact of its efforts in the fight against climate change and support for the monitoring of its climate commitments.
Sustainable Development Goals
The electricity sector plays a key role in achieving the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting the rise in global temperature to less than 2°C by the end of the century and focusing efforts on limiting it to a maximum of 1.5°C. Neoenergia is fully aligned with this goal and addresses the fight against climate change in its business strategy through its Climate Change Policy and its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably SDG 13 (Climate Action).
The company views climate change not only as a risk factor but also as an opportunity to be seized through mitigation and adaptation measures during the transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy.
The diversification of the company’s generation assets—combining hydro, wind, solar, and thermal sources—enables it to better manage the risks associated with climate variations. The group is positioned to capitalize on these opportunities thanks to its leading role in renewable energy, smart grids, storage, and digitalization.
