Termoaçu

Termoaçu has installed capacity of 367.92 Mw, in two natural gas turbines, and produces additionally 610 t/h of steam. Its electrical power supplies the distribution of Grupo Neoenergia (COELBA and COSERN) and the steam is used by Petrobras for continuous injection of oil wells to increase the production in the region. The total investment was US$ 300 million, of which US$ 85 million correspond to gas turbines. The power plant started its operation in September 2008.

On September 16, 2004 Neoenergia and Petrobras signed a commitment term, which predicted that Petrobras would be responsible for contributions from then onwards until the completion of the project, diluting the participation of Neoenergia to the minimum limit of 20.5%.
