The Brazilian electric sector has the following segmentation:

Generation – An area whose source is essentially hydric as a result of the Brazilian geography

Transmission – Responsible for 85.817 km of lines that interconnect the generating sources and the distribution network throughout Brazil.

Distribution – Consisting of 64 public services concessionaires that take energy to the final consumers.

Commercialization – Represented by companies that perform the purchase and sale operations in the free / non-regulated market.
