Goiás Sul

Goiás Sul, a company 100% controlled by Grupo Neoenergia, is implanting the Small Hydroelectric Power Plant of Goiandira, with installed power of 27 MW, and Nova Aurora, with installed power of 21 MW.

The power that will be produced by Goiandira and Nova Aurora was traded at the Power Bidding that occurred in December 2005. Its construction works were initiated in August 2007, after obtaining the Installation License, issued by Goiás Environment Agency on July 30th 2007.

The start of the operation of PCH Nova Aurora is predicted for April 2009. The start of the 1st machine of PCH Goiandira is predicted for June 2009. The total investment in these projects is R$ 182 million: R$ 97 million in PCH Goiandira and R$ 85 million in PCH Nova Aurora. The investment will be financed with 65% of resources from third parties and 35% from own resources.

The ensured power from Goiandira and Nova Aurora is respectively, 17,09 MW and 12,37 MW in average. The power will be traded with a pool of 31 distributors in Brazil, via power trading contracts executed in the Regulated Contracting Environment.
