The SPE Energética Águas Da Pedra S.A. was founded for the construction of Dardanelos HPP, having as partners: Neoenergia (51%), Eletronorte (Centrais Elétricas do Norte do Brasil) (24.5%) and CHESF (Companhia Hidrelétrica do São Francisco) (24.5%).
Dardanelos HPP is on River Aripuanã, municipality of Aripuanã, state of Mato Grosso. The plant’s rated capacity is of 261 MW, a reservoir of 0.24 kmV, which corresponds to the best flooded area and energy generated ratio in Brazil, and average guaranteed power output of 154.9 MW, contracted by a pool of 24 distributors.
The total investment in this project is of R$ 788 MM (base June/11), out of which R$ 485 million are financed by BNDES through agreement entered in October 2008.
In 2011, Aneel released the Generating Units for commercial operation: UG1 on 08/19; UG1, UG2 and UG3 on 09/14/2011 and UG5 on 08/09/2011.
